Senior Pastor Theo Johnson
First Lady Alicia Johnson
Dr. Theo Johnson, D.D., is the Senior Pastor of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. He is a native of Dallas, Texas, and has served in ministry since June of 1999. He passionately pursues preaching and teaching the uncompromised Word of God in a relevant and practical way, in order to develop and train disciples, all while engaging and evangelizing the un-churched and unsaved community for Christ. Dr. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication from Prairie View A&M University, a Master of Theology in Pastoral Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate of Divinity from United Theological Seminary. His interests include reading and traveling and he is happily married to his high-school sweetheart, Alicia Johnson. Together they have four beautiful children, Tamieyah, Taimera, Tiara and Justus.
At Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church, we envision becoming a church that ministers holistically to the needs of the congregation and communities that surround us. Our goal is to develop and equip fully functioning followers through our weekend worship services, Sunday school, Wednesday bible studies, small groups, evangelism, missions, and community outreach. We envision becoming a church community where true relationships are formed and forged, where the people love and are loved, encourage and are encouraged, serve and are served, and forgive and are forgiven. Our goal is to become a church where no one walks alone; and where unity, harmony, and diversity are celebrated. We envision becoming a church where we help our children, youth, teens, and adults grow and develop into disciple-makers. Our goal is that every member ministers and discovers their divine call to serve Christ passionately and effectively, within and outside our church.
